The Apostle expounds on a particular aspect of faith which is in conjunction with his exhortation that closes the previous chapter, mainly to persevere. 2. The Apostle does not offer a definition of faith, he offers a description of faith in the context of perseverance. 3. the majority of this chapter deals with faith as it relates to Old Testament saints.
